HOSA Information
WHO WE ARE… HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America) is a national student-led organization which provides students with the opportunity to explore the healthcare field and build career and life skills. Our chapter is affiliated with the Medical Sciences Academy at Esperanza High School and we provide middle school students with the opportunity to participate in the many opportunities of HOSA before entering high school. Our advisors are Mrs. Mary Chapluk and Mrs. Gina Beelner.
WHAT WE DO… We explore future healthcare careers through student-led activities, field trips, mentorships with Esperanza students, and attend the state leadership conference each spring during even-numbered years. Our members develop teamwork strategies, leadership values, and a positive work ethic through membership.
WHO SHOULD JOIN THE ORGANIZATION… Any middle school students who like helping people should join HOSA. We provide many career exploration opportunities that help students decide if the healthcare field appeals to them. We also help students experience HOSA’s exciting leadership opportunities and community service events before entering high school.
